Well, I guess I should just say critter being I only have one. But that is only temporary. I eventually would like 2 Rottweilers and a German Shepard. I think it would be cool to breed and raise rotties and the shepard would be my partner on the force.
Anyway, if and when i get more critters, I will add them on here as well. But now on to the one I do have roaming around. Her name is Sheba. She is a shepard, lab, husky mix. I adopted her from the Beaufort County Animal Shelter in Beaufort, SC in Dec of 1995 when she was about 6-8 weeks old. She was born in Nov '95 and was in the shelter with a brother. The brother was a cute little brown hairball.
Sheba has been a great dog for the most part. It was very difficult to get her house broke since I was working 10-16 hrs a day at that time. But we eventually managed to get it done. I also finally broke her of chewing up my brand new comforter when I was at work. The vet told me she was jsut lonely for me so I got her some toys and kept the radio playing while I was gone so she wouldnt feel so alone. It worked pretty good.
She has learned a few tricks and commands. She can sit, stay, lay down, and shake. Still working on stay and a few others but she is getting to the point she dont want to learn but just play. I do play around with her and she gets pretty rough at times but if she goes to bite I can tell her to "be nice" and she will let go of my hand or arm and start licking it. Sheba is also very affectionate. Always coming up to me for hugs and kisses or just to lay her head in my lap. Unfortuantely, as a puppy, I spoiled her by letting her stay on my lap so now she still tries to get into my lap. But as you can tell she is a little too big for that LOL
Oh well, she is one of the best pets I have ever owned. I also put a memorial up for the dog I grew up with. She was a true sweetie and I miss her very much so this will be my way of showing her how much I love her. The link is at the bottom of the page.
A tribute to my best friend
